No doubt most of the action will be found by venturing into Newmarket which is only a few miles from Mildenhall. There is a staggering 41 pubs (at last count!!!) in Newmarket and night-clubs. Links Golf Club has a pitch and putt and crazy golf course just outside Newmarket.

Most bird watching will be done in the pubs and clubs but for the exception of Brian the Lakenheath Fens offers the chance to spot the rare Bittern which is a member of the Heron family.
The River Lark runs through the town and there are several walks, from a short one mile walk to Barton Mills, to a long 10 mile walk along the Lark Valley to Bury St Edmunds.

Tour Details - Mildenhall in Suffolk
Mildenhall offers a good selection of pubs including The Half Moon, The Maids Head, The Globe, The Tigers Head, The Riverside Hotel and the White Hart Hotel. Most serve pub food and for the more adventurous there is Gandhi's Indian restaurant and the Dragon House Chinese restaurant.

The Mildenhall Museum in King Street has some excellent displays of times past, the local wildlife, the history of the RAF base, and of course, information on the 'Mildenhall Treasure', a horde of 4th century Roman silver tableware found nearby.

Rick Allen has pulled out all of the stops this year with a coup of booking up the Bell Hotel in the small but lively town of Mildenhall. Mildenhall is an ideal location being only 6 miles from the Chippenham fixture and 18 miles from the Kirtling fixture.

The hotel rooms are all on-suite and have tea & coffee facilities. There is a bar and restaurant and live entertainment.
